On Thursday 9th May 2013, residents and co-workers
from our community enjoyed going on a walk around the lakes in Willen. The
lakes at Willen are some of the largest purpose-built balancing lakes in the
UK. They were designed to take run-off surface water from Milton Keynes. There
are also lots of trees surrounding the lakes and they are a good place for
nature as lots of swans and wild ducks can be seen there.
Ascension Day commemorates the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. It is universally celebrated and is often celebrated as a feast. Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day of Easter.
