Bonaventure is a play by Charlotte Hastings which was
performed at the Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes on Friday 5th
July and Saturday 6th July. The theatre group performing this play
was Tread the Boards (TTB) which was founded in Newport Pagnell,
Buckinghamshire, in 1986.
Set in 1947 as Britain emerged from the austerity of World
War II the nurses and nuns residing at the hill top convent of Our Lady of
Rheims had to cope with an influx of desperate villagers whose homes are being
swept away in fearful floods. A driver and his three car passengers were also
forced to seek refuge. But they were not what they immediately appeared and
their arrival set in motion a sequence of events that will change some lives
forever.
