Christmas grotto

Here are some photographs of the grotto that was opened in Sunwood House in Camphill Milton Keynes over the Christmas period.
A grotto is a natural or artificial cave used as a decorative feature in gardens or houses. Grottoes derived from natural caves were regarded in antiquity as dwelling places of divinities. Grottoes were often constructed from a fanciful arrangement of rocks, shells, bones, broken glass, and other strangely assorted objects and were commonly associated with water.

Advent Spiral

Here are some photographs of the Advent Spiral which happened in the crypt in Camphill Milton Keynes on 30th November. In the middle of the Crypt, there was a large candle and all the residents and co-workers who attended had their own small candle. Somebody lit the big candle at the centre of the spiral and people could light their smaller candle from this to put onto the spiral. Advent Sunday is the fourth Sunday before Christmas, marking the beginning of the Advent season, which ends on Christmas Day.

Wreath making

Here are some photographs of residents and co-workers in Camphill Milton Keynes making Christmas wreaths in the Crypt. A wreath is an assortment of flowers, leaves, fruits, twigs or various materials that is constructed to resemble a ring.
