St. John's Day
On Friday 23rd June, residents and co-workers from Camphill Milton Keynes celebrated St. John's Day on the grass area.
This is the period of time centred upon the summer solstice.
In the Gospel of Luke, certain verses imply that John the Baptist was born six months earlier than Jesus. And since it has become tradition that Jesus was born on 25 December (Christmas), Midsummer day, being six months before was taken to be the feast day of St. John the Baptist.

Land Day
On Friday 23rd June, Camphill Milton Keynes had a Land Day. The first hour of the morning was to spend time in and around the houses and garden cleaning and tidying. Anything that needed to go to the tip was piled up around the grass area.
Then there was a community tea break in the foyer of the Chrysalis Theatre.
People then got into working groups with nominated task coordinators to help do a variety of activities like weeding, path cleaning, the bonfire, and cleaning the storage sheds.
I thought that Land Day was a fun way to clean up our community.
