Electra - Milton Keynes Community Boat

Step aboard Electra for a peaceful and relaxing way to take in Milton Keynes parks along the Grand Union Canal. The boat is fully electric and is fully accessible to the public, making it the perfect community experience! Brought to you by the BMK Waterway Trust, Electra is run by a dedicated team of volunteers that are driven to promote the development of a new 26km waterway park all the way from Milton Keynes to Bedford.

The boat can take up to 12 guests per trip and includes a disabled access, with a lift and a toilet that takes average sized wheelchairs. The boat will operate out of the Campbell Wharf Marina and offers cruises along the Grand Union Canal north towards Cosgrove, taking in some of our beautiful parks such as Great Linford Manor Park and south towards Waterhall Park and Fenny Stratford.

Andrew's workshop retirement party

These are some photographs of Andrew having a retirement party in the foyer of the Chrysalis Theatre on Wednesday 10th Janruary.

Retirement is the withdrawal from one's position or occupation or from one's active working life. A person may also semi-retire by reducing work hours or workload. Many people choose to retire when they are elderly or incapable of doing their job due to health reasons.

Land of Lights

These are photographs of residents and staff from Camphill Milton Keynes visiting the Land of Lights.

We embarked on a visual voyage accross the Land of Lights and explored 12 vivid dreamworlds brought to life on a spectacular scale. Inspired by animal kingdoms, mega monuments, and seasonal celebrations. Each dreamworld was bursting with colour, culture and illumination.

Travelodge is a private company operating in the hotels and hospitality industry throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.

In the early 1970s, Charles Forte bought the US Travelodge brand with the hope of establishing it in Britain. The first Travelodges opened in 1973 in former Excelsior Motor Lodge branches, a brand of motels owned by Forte which were located near busy roads. Trusthouse Forte would later open another roadside hotel chain in 1976. These were Little Chef Lodges which were attached to Little Chef restaurants and was the first chain of budget hotels in the UK. In 1988, the two chains were combined and rebranded to become "Forte Travelodge".

In August 2006, Travelodge was split from Little Chef and sold to Dubai International Capital (DIC), a United Arab Emirates-based company, for £675 million.
