Blackadder II

Following the success of the first visit to Elizabethan England with Blackadder II in September 2014, Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy returned to Queenie’s Court to stage the remaining 3 episodes from the popular TV series from 2nd to 7th March in the Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes.
The episodes performed were:
Money: Blackadder is pursued by the baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells over an unpaid loan and is forced to formulate cunning plans to make money…
Potato: In the wake of Sir Walter Raleigh’s triumphant return from America, and in an attempt to impress the Queen, Blackadder plans a voyage of his own around the Cape of Good Hope…
Chains: Blackadder and Melchett are kidnapped by the German Prince Ludwig, a murderous master of disguise, and held to ransom…
Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy was formed in 2003. Its aim is to put on comedy productions, of the highest possible standard. In recent years MTOC has specialised in producing stage adaptations of well-known and popular TV comedies.

Pancake Day

Here are some photographs of residents and co-workers in Camphill Milton Keynes having pancake races on Tuesday 17th February. Pancakes are traditionally eaten on Shrove Tuesday, which is known as "Pancake Day" in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland,New Zealand, and Australia, and "Pancake Tuesday" in Ireland and Scotland. (Shrove Tuesday is better known in the United States, France, and other countries as Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday.) Historically, pancakes were made on Shrove Tuesday so that the last of the fat or lard was used up before Lent. No meat products should be eaten during Lent.

Valentine's Day Party

Here are some photograph's of people in Camphill Milton Keynes having a Valentine's Day party in the Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes on Saturday 14th February. Valentine's Day, also known as Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is a celebration observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it is not a public holiday in most of them.
Many people exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their special “valentine.” The day of romance we call Valentine’s Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century, but has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia.
