35th Anniversary Celebration of Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda

The Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda was completed in 1980 at the northern edge of Willen lake in Willen, Milton Keynes. This was the first Peace Pagoda in the western world. There is a Nipponzan Myohoji Order temple and monastery nearby.
On Sunday 14th June 2015 there was a ceremony at the Peace Pagoda to celebrate it's 35th year of being built. There were prayers, addresses and messages of peace. There were also multi-cultural events including a poem and a eurhythmy performance from Camphill Milton Keynes.

Making kites for Ascension Day

These are some photos of us making kites for Ascension Day. This celebration commemorates the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven. Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day from Easter day. A kite is a tethered object with an aerodynamic surface that creates lift in order to overcome gravity and fly. Kites have a long and varied history and there are many types of kites that are flown individually and at festivals world wide.
