Willen Observation Wheel

These are some photographs of me going on Willen Observation Wheel.

Ferris wheel (or a big wheel in the United Kingdom) is an amusement ride consisting of a rotating upright wheel with multiple passenger-carrying components (commonly referred to as passenger cars, cabins, tubs, capsules, gondolas, or pods) attached to the rim in such a way that as the wheel turns, they are kept upright, usually by gravity. Some of the largest modern Ferris wheels have cars mounted on the outside of the rim, with electric motors to independently rotate each car to keep it upright. These wheels are sometimes referred to as observation wheels and their cars referred to as capsules. However, these alternative names are also used for wheels with conventional gravity-oriented cars.

15th Death Anniversary of Revd. Handa

Namu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo
On Saturday 21st August there was the 15th Death Anniversary Ceremony for Reverend Handa Shonin Sama at the Buddhist Temple in Willen.
Rev Handa was a Buddhist Monk, the abbot of Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda and Temple until his sudden death in 2007.
During his lifetime Rev Handa worked tirelessly for the creation of peace through his practice and work at the temple and the wider world, when we look around us his presence and influence continue to guide and inspire us.
His practice was very much an example to all especially the paying of respect to the Buddha Nature with in all people and like the Bodhisattva Never Despise from the Lotus Sutra he practiced this towards all and never wavered in this. This practice is the very foundation to building a more peaceful and harmonius world and in this Rev Handa remains a true example of a warrior of peace to guide and inspire us all.

Chloe and Andrew's wedding

Congratulations to Chloe and Andrew who live in Camphill Milton Keynes who got married on Friday 27th August. Steven was the grooms best man.

Marriage, also called matrimony or wedlock is a culturally recognized union between people called spouses. It establishes rights and obligations between them, as well as between them and their children, and between them and their in-laws. It is considered a cultural universal, but the definition of marriage varies between cultures and religions, and over time. Typically, it is an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually sexual, are acknowledged or sanctioned. In some cultures, marriage is recommended or considered to be compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity. A marriage ceremony is called a wedding. Individuals may marry for several reasons, including legal, social, libidinal, emotional, financial, spiritual, and religious purposes.
