The Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes held a Desert Island Movie Night on Thursday 26th September. A different special guest will be invited each night to chat to the audience about their top 5 movies that they would take with them if they were stranded on a desert island. The guest also decided which one of the movies will be shown.
For this night the special guest was Clarke Carlisle, an English former footballer who played as a defender and is the current chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association. Born in Preston, he began playing football at a young age, taking inspiration from his father who played semi-professionally. Thanks to his Chairmanship of the PFA, appearances on BBC’s Question Time and an acclaimed documentary on racism in football, and the most recent Footballs Suicide Secret, Clarke Carlisle is renowned as one of the most eloquent and thoughtful sportsmen of today. There was also a book signing session because he wrote a book called 'You Don't Know Me, But... A Footballer's Life'.
This night's film was 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy'.
