Hiroshima Day Lanterns
On Tuesday 6th August, there was the Lantern Floating
Ceremony at the Peace Pagoda at Willen in Milton Keynes.
All were welcome to commemorate the victims of Hiroshima by
floating lanterns on Willen Lake. There was a ceremony at the Buddhist Temple at 7.30pm
which lasted for an hour which included reflective music, water sprinkling and
blessing, chanting and offering of incense and also interfaith prayers for
peace.
After the ceremony had finished at the temple, there was the
procession and floating of the candle-lit lanterns on Willen Lake.
The ceremony sought to reflect on the horrors of war in an
atomic age and to pray together for peace and harmony between all people and
nations.

Barbecue
Every three month there is a Parents meeting held in the crypt next to the Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes. Parents whose children live in the community can go to this to discuss what goes on in Camphill Milton Keynes and how their children are getting on. For the parents meeting held on Saturday 20th July we all had a barbecue on the grass area on the Camphill grounds after the parents meeting had finished. We could have sausages, burgers, salad, vegetarian food and drinks.

Sports Day
These are photographs of residents of Camphill Milton Keynes taking part in a Sports Day in the Chrysalis Theatre and on the grass area on Wednesday 14th August.
Thank you to everyone who took part, supported and attended. It was fun to see people having fun and getting fit.
A sports day is a day of outdoor or indoor sports and athletic competition for people who want to be physically active.
