These are some photographs of Newport Pagnell Singers doing a performance at the Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes on Saturday 16th April. NPS was formed in 1962 by a group of ladies who had been
members of the Newport Pagnell Choral Societies, which were disbanded in 1960. NPS continues to grow from strength to strength
as a choir. Newport Pagnell Singers currently have around 45 singers, a few who have been with the choir for a very long time! NPS continue to sing a wide variety of music.
This concert explored a selection of British music ranging from folk songs
of the British Isles through popular music of Tommy Steele and The Beatles to
modern West End plays and musicals. It took people on a musical journey of many
styles and genres, both spoken and sung. Above all, it captured a wealth of
music from the British Isles over the past 100 years of which we can be proud.

In 1931 H.P. Lovecraft wrote his classic tale of alien horror, "The Whisperer in Darkness". Lovecraft is now considered one of America's foremost writers of horror fiction, standing alongside the likes of Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe.
The story is told by Albert N. Wilmarth, an instructor of literature at Miskatonic University in Arkham. When local newspapers report strange things seen floating in rivers during a historic Vermont flood, Wilmarth becomes embroiled in a controversy about the reality and significance of the sightings, though he sides with the skeptics, blaming old legends about monsters living in uninhabited hills who abduct people who venture to close to their territory.

Here are some photographs of a conference called 'Hear My Voice'. It happened on Friday 11th March. It was all about how people with a learning disability have the right to vote. It was held in a place called MK SNAP. People with special needs could come along to learn why voting is so important, learn about councillors and the police and crime commissioner, and to try voting in an election for Community Champions. This event was from 9.45 am to 2.45 pm.
The Mayor of Milton Keynes gave an introduction then there were Councillor presentations.
People could think of questions to ask them. Different groups of people with special needs came up with Community Champion Manifestos and people attending the conference could take part in a vote to choose which group they like the most.
Established in 1991, MK SNAP is a charity built on achievement, team work and individual development whose purpose is to offer work and life skills training to individuals aged 16+ who have physical and learning difficulties.
