The Evacuation

On Monday 18th February 2013, The Chrysalis Theatre in Camphill Milton Keynes held a practise fire evacuation.  The Chrysalis teamed up with Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy who provided the audience a sneak preview of their upcoming production The History of Comedy – Funny Women. The audience needed to be made up of two hundred volunteers although only about seventy people actually turned up.  While Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy were performing their sneak preview, the fire alarm was set of and Martina Fiserova, who is the theatre manager explained were the fire exits were and that we should assemble outside of the front on the Chrysalis Theatre. This practise fire evacuation was planned in order to review the theatre’s evacuation procedure. There were lots of refreshments of cakes and teas and coffee before and after the fire evacuation in the foyer of the Chrysalis Theatre. I thought this event was important because we now know what do do if there was a real fire.
