Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today - as well as being extremely fun.
Teams took to the waters of Willen Lake, racing in brightly-coloured 30-foot dragon boats, each with a majestic dragon's head at the bow and a traditional drum to keep the beat with the rowers' strokes, while the first set started at 10am.
Up to 48 teams can compete over the 200m race course, watched by several thousand spectators.
