Into the Woods

Into the Woods was written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine in 1986 and was first staged in San Diego. It was performed at the Chrysalis Theater from 23rd to 26th October by Company MK. For over 20 years, Company MK have been producing top quality productions and Into the Woods was no exception.
Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Ridinghood and Rapunzel wish for a lot of things – riches, freedom, festivals… and cake! Each of them gets what they deserve, but in the end, will that be good or bad?

Harvest Meal

Residents and co-workers celebrated a harvest festival and supper in the hall of the Chrysalis Theatre at Camphill Milton Keynes on Saturday 5th October. A harvest festival is an annual celebration which occurs around the time of the main harvest of a given region. We sung some harvest songs in the hall before the meal was served.
Hanne Drexel did a performance on the lyre with some residents and there was also some eurhythmy performed by Joan Harris.

What Men Live By

Michaelmas , September 29th, has for centuries been celebrated by various cultures at the time of moving into shorter days and longer nights.  Metaphorically, it is a time to recognise we each have our own inner ‘demons’ of fear, anger, insecurity, jealousy, greed, etc. which we are challenged to face daily.
‘What Men Live By’ is a short story written by Russian author Leo Tolstoy in 1885.
This play was chosen as theme to celebrate the Divine in the Human Spirit which helps us face these challenges. Purposely the cast has been drawn from individuals across the Community – residents, senior co-workers, managers and a Trustee of CMKC – as we work on strengthening our Camphil Community.
The cast of the play were:
