Milton Keynes Disability Day

On Sunday 13th July, there was the Milton Keynes Disability Day at Campbell Park. It was a free event and people who went had to bring a picnic.

The aim of this day was to put Milton Keynes on the map as a city that inspires a ‘can do’ attitude among its whole population. MK DAD (Disability Awareness Day) showcased the talent that exists within our disabled community.

It rained heavily for some of the day, although this didn’t matter since all the events were in large tents.

Cakes, cookies, pizza and bread were on sale from Camphill and MK Snap and the Really Awesome Coffee van.

There was music from Haddon Beats, drumming from Warriors, dance from Neon and performances from Encompass and MK Snap.

People could try more than a dozen sports, games, gymnastics, yoga, arts and crafts, meet the MK Dons mascots, and explore the MK Dons on Tour bus and the Thames Valley Police Community Unit and so much more.
